Just a random thought. Aside from two Arri kits that are accessible, I have my own set of photo speed lights that I use to model product at work. Does anyone know how well they work for video lighting? They'd be interesting to use in a small room setup, I think.

Dynalights/Speedlights for Lighting?

If it's the Dynalight 125w modeling light your referring to then I would say you need a fast video camera. The Arri's would overpower the 125w very easily. It is a bare bulb light and is hard to control not imposable. The Arri is more suitable choice if you need to control it.
When at full power it should be 3200K.
If you put a chimera on it would make a very soft key light again I would worry about your stop. You could use it as a edge light "kicker" where you don't need as much light because it is a direct reflection or "kick". Protect your lens the light goes everywhere.
The dynalight I'm familiar with has a fan built in. Your sound man, surely will object, and ask you to move it out of the room. One solution is to get a soundman whos name is not surely.

Whoa. Good point, dude.
They both have fans on them. I guess they really wouldn't be ideal at all. I'd still play around with them, though. Just for fun to see what I could do with them.Comet Color Page
