    Understanding LED beam angles?

I'm trying to better understand LED lights.
A Dracast light such as this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ..._spot_led.html
    has a beam angle of 45 degrees and output of 8,000 lux / 743 fc at 3.0' (0.9 m).
So if it had a beam angle of 60 degrees would that lesson the throw distance of light due to the wider angle?

Also, what beam angle is preferable for one person interviews, being easier on the eyes and having to add the least diffusion?

Thank you in advance for the rudimentary question. Perhaps it will help others too.
