Litegate technology??

Hype or reality: NRG claims its NRG Varilux Pro on-camera light "virtually eliminates color shift". If it's true, it seems to me it would be huge breakthrough. And the light is fairly cheap.

I screwed up the names a little: It's Varalux Professional with Lightgate technology. Anyone???

It's sort of like a dimmer in that it pulses the duty cycle but different in that it maintains peak voltage. Is it going to change your life? No!

But does it do what it claims: variable light levels with minimal color change?

Over a certain part of the scale as it dims yes.
