Cheapest way to add an HD SDI intake to my Mac Pro (early 2008)

Looking at adding a way to capture video via an HD SDI connection directly to my early 2008 Mac Pro running El Captain. What would be the cheapest way to make this happen? Would micro center have what I am looking for?

Check out Black Magic and see what they have. I know they (used to) make small little SDI IN and OUT boxes for Thunderbolt, because I have an SDI out for my 2012 RMBP. Being an older model with older connections, may be the fly in the ointment for you though...

You're in luck, you have PCIe slots in your Mac, unlike the "trashcan" Mac Pros. The cheapest HD-SDI capture card that Blackmagic makes is the Decklink Mini Recorder, for $145. It gives you one HDMI or one SDI input (not both at the same time,) at 4K (6G-SDI.) The Decklink is available on Amazon with free Prime shipping.

Or the USB3 input devices, also from BMD or some of the direct from China places for cheap offerings.

Following others here, I wouldn't go for the absolute cheapest. But for $150 to $200, you can get a DeckLink card from Blackmagic Design:

I have a BlackMagic Deck Link card and breakout cable if you are interested. I am not using it anymore and will sell it if you want it. SDI and HDMI in and out + 8 tracks of balanced audio in and out. Message me if you want pics or info. Cheers!

Thanks for all the info guys. I ended up finding a Blackmagic Decklink HD PRO card with software and breakout cables for 20 bucks on ebay and just ordered it.
