    Adobe's Crazy Prices

I went on to adobe's website to purchase Photoshop CS5 Extended and After Effects CS5 and was floored that they were each $999.

Then looked up the pricing for the CS5 Production Premium and it's only $1699 and includes:

Photoshop Extended, Premiere pro, After Effects, Audition, Flash Catalyst, Flash Professional, Illustrator, OnLocation, Encore, Device Central, Bridge, and Media Encoder.

Interesting. that's about $142 per piece of software.

Why make it so expensive for one piece of software? But so cheap when you buy the bundle?

Its even better right now since they are offering a 50% discount if you are switching editors. That's $849 for the entire production premium!

Nope. You just type "SWITCH" into the promotion code part after you've added it to your cart. Simple as that.

That's by far my favorite marketing trick. For only a dollar more your drink can be twice as large. For 8.99 you get two rentals a month, for 10.99 you get unlimited. Throwing in a bad option makes the other options look really wonderful. That's why I stand by ugly people whenever I can.

Getting ready to pull the trigger on purchasing the Adobe CS5.5 Prod. Premium Suite.

                  I have 2 Q's first though......
                  (1) I don't follow release dates and stuff.....is the 5.5 suite pretty up to date? I mean, I wont end up buying the suite then hearing that CS6 is coming out in a month?
                  (2) Is "videoguys" a reputable company to purchase from online?

                  Thanks

Over the years I have purchased Adobe 6.5, Matrox RT2000, Edius 5 and Edius HDSpark card from them with no problems. I would think the current Adobe CS5.5 Production Premium package is pretty standard and should work fine. Just read the fine print in the product description. http://www.webvideoguys.com/AdobeCS55switch.html
