.psd files won't import as layers?

why won't my .psd files import as layers? I have noticed since I upgraded to "Tiger" (last week), Photoshop has been telling me my pixel aspect ratio is not right at startup? Would this be part of the problem? I'm not sure the exact warning, but I know it has something to do with the pixel ratio.

When I "Save" a project my settings are as follows:

layers box is checked and the color profile box is "Apple RGB

Is it with your recent PSD files on the new platform or only older ones? I have had this same issue when creating a photoshop file on the Windows Platform, FCP only sees it as a single layer. To fix it, I have to open it in PShop for Mac, make some small change so the file thinks it's different, then save a new fiel on the mac platform as a psd. FCP sees the layers on import then ...
