Screencasting Software (iShowU HD vs. Screenflow)

    Hey, Folks.

I need to record a Mac (Snow Leopard) desktop (during a video chat) and edit the footage in FCP7.

It seems iShowU HD and Screenflow are my two best options.

Any thoughts? The final footage may be screening in theatres at films festivals, so resolution/clarity is a concern.

    Thanks!

    Any reason not using Quicktime?

It's very unlikely that any kind of screencasting software is going to give you a video image of a resolution suitable for any kind of large screen, especially a movie theater screen. Most, if not all, screencasting software is designed to do presentations to be shown on computers.

When I was producing 'Tangled Web', I searched high and low for any kind of screen recording software. Everything I tried wound up looking like crap in the final DVD, when viewed on a TV screen.

If you find something, let us know.
