I've been having problems capturing in Premiere Pro 2. I don't know why, but all of a sudden the capture window hangs when I try to stop capturing. This of course forces me to force quit Premiere, and I just lost an hour of time for nothing.
Instead of beating my head against a wall, I found a free program, HDVSplit that does what PP2 doesn't- it works! I haven't really explored it yet, but it seems to do scene detect, as well as display a preview during capture... if you install and configure ffshow. I haven't had any luck with the preview yet, but at least it captures! I have to say that for the money, Premiere's capture doesn't measure up to a free Beta.
