    HVX 1080 24p

    Hi all,
Shot some stuff in 1080 24p, loaded it into Avid in 1080i 59.97 project, but the footage looks interlaced (viewing downconversion through mojo). Lines around edges looks like interlacing. But when I use full screen preview via dvi to HDTV footage looks clean, no lines on edges. Problem is I have to deliver on Beta SP that means using mojo down conversion that means lines on edges.
    Any help or solution apreciated.
    Thanks.

Mojo is only a down conversion preview, not a true down conversion device from HD to SD - basically it is 1/2 the frame then scaled to SD so interlacing will be more pronounced. The high quality method is to switch your 1080i project to SD (30i) and transcode your sequence to NTSC (choose your resolution) and then output via Mojo. This will be the highest quality you can get.

I prefer MC - but lately I have been using FCP to edit HD because I can view external monitor using a $1,000 Kona card.

I don't understand - why can't Avid produce an afforadable HD monitor output?
