Avid work with only one core?

I really like AVID just got a new computer Core 2 Duo before I have AMD 64... when I am using Core 2, most of my work still using one core not two core, only few effects and imports form m2t to NDxhd file are using two cores... is AVID multi core ready?

    thanks

Not sure about dual core, but before, Avid recomended a dual processor workstation. The second CPU did nothing but control the Mojo/Adrenaline. There was no speed gain, but the Mojo had a full pipeline to itself.

So, if your software-only, not much of a gain( yet)

5.x is certainly multithreaded as I sometimes get errors telling me that some processing thread has timed out . I suspect you'll see most benefit from working with HDV, which is pretty CPU-intensive due to the MPEG-2 compression: DV and DNxHD don't stress the CPU as much.
