Can Avid Liquid 7 Pro really handle all formats on the HVX202??

I have seriously been thinking I was going to purchase Final Cut Studio 5.1 for the past few weeks, however I have just been told that Avid Liquid Pro can handle all formats on the HVX202 (PAL). This is great because I was hesitant about FCP because it cannot handle every format.

Is anyone editing the footage from HVX202 cameras on Avid Liquid Pro 7? Is it really that good?

I am thinking deciding between FCP and Avid, what would you guys do?

    Thanks in advance !!

Final Cut will be able to in the next update as well as Avid Xpress Pro, we just don't know when either update will be out. Both are saying later this year. I am not sure about Liquid though.

Both companies are saying that future support will be available, the problem is when. I heard all of this back around NAB. Xpress Pro can only handle 1080/50i in the PAL land currently.

You cant run Avid Liquid on a Mac, it's pc only based and rocks well over FCP

I´ve been using Liquid from day one (when it still was coded by FAST), but I highly doubt that it is as flexible ans easy to use as FCP...
But I would also be interested if Avid Liquid fully supports the HVX PAL, anyone?

Try going to http://www.avid.com/exchange/forums/54/ShowForum.aspx for info on all of this. It does support Pal of course. One of the few things it does not do is 24P yet however will very soon. The Liquid line is a broadcase line of editing software. Far more flexible and powerful then FCP and all the others in this range.

The question was, if it supports PAL DVCproHD in all its flavors.
And have you really used both programms (Liquid and FCP), or "all the others in this range" to state this?
Do you think it is more powerfull, because it now has the AVID bonus?
And why do you think it is more flexible then FCP?
Last, please explain what you mean by "broadcast line of editing software"...

                  Hope this helps

                  http://www.avid.com/products/nleFamily.asp

Avid liquid chrome is used by E entertainment. Also the large Avid systems only run on PC's.

Avid purchased Pinnacle and the Liquid line as they saw this an powerful stuff.

                  Enjoy and good luck
