    MC8.3+ dongle upgrade problem?

We are in the process of upgrading to MC 8.3+, we have a support contract. We have a mix of volume licensed software/web activated and dongle activated. The web we were forced to upgrade our 8 licenses to the 20 license pack that is now minimum (a $1200 un-budgeted expense), this went smoothly with the codes provided on the cards. My 20 dongle based are a different story. The 20 dongles are listed in the versioner checker on the website, but I can not add them to my account which means I can not download the latest versioner file. Opened a case with support last week and still nothing after 5 calendar days. I'm right in the middle of a required XP to Win7 upgrade on our other computers and our editing computers really need a refresh too so this delay is killing me.

Has anyone else had issues getting dongles listed in their account so they can get all the files they need?

I'm about to install MC8.4 onto one computer and just run it in demo mode so our instructors can take a look at it and make new class handouts and maybe some videos. Figured I would see if this is a wide spread issue or localized to our account.

So support finally got 19 or our 20 dongles entered under my account, and then the next hoop...

You no longer have a "master" .avd file that includes all dongles to use with the dongle updater tool! Now you get to enter the serial number of each dongle and download a separate .avd file for each. Make sure to keep them all straight when upgrading. I know they want all users kicked over to web based activation, but this is getting out of hand.

If this hadn't taken a week to get some kind of resolution, I might not be so unhappy. But now I know when I have a problem upgrading our old Flexnet server to the new floating license server, calling support is going to be nothing but frustration (again)!

I hope that you are able to resolve this problem. I know all to well what additional problems this could cause, absent a speedy resolution. Good luck!

It finally worked out, then spent another week trying to straighten out our floating license server... I can only say that I'm glad we have no classes in the summer, and that I wasn't trying to get this up before a client came in. Man would I be pissed if it cost me a contract!

Now my only issue seems to be hardware. On MC 6 I was able to get reliable playback of at least 5 stream of XDCamEX at 35mbps, now I can only get 4 streams, I'm assuming it is the video card because the CPU isnt working very hard. I guess it is time to replace the old Quadro 2000 cards with something that has a little more punch, or maybe just run multiple cards. When I get a chance I'll stick a second Quadro 2000 in a computer and see if it speeds things up. We are only doing 720/60p so no real heavy lifting.
