    AVID beginner need starter documentation

Hi folks, i started to learning AVID Media Composer 6.5, but i don`t find documentation to star to use the program . Actually i'm editing with Final Cut Pro 7, but when Apple said they will don't continue the Final Cut project i started to think about AVID. I used Premiere CS2 to 6 but AVID is a whole new world, i'm very lost .

Just moving from Sony Vegas to Avid Media Composer (stability issues that I'm just too much tired of). I've read a bit about Media Composer, it's installed and so far, it's not as "day&night" different as I thought. There's another learning curve for sure, but so far, I'm not totally lost. There's also a lot of comprehensive and well detailed tutorial on AVID's youtube channel.
Now, I hope for the best!

Just a thought though: do you absolutely need an hardware box like the Mbox to be able to monitor in 5.1 when mixing audio?
I've managed to do such work in Vegas with my old Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Zs card, but I'm wondering how it works in AVID, as I haven't been able to get anything else than stereo so far.
