I asked this question in another forum once I figured out why my footage keep crashing. The data transfer from my P2 card system did transfer correctly 2X. So I need to invest in one or the other software. Shutput looks good as I think I can move any file to Disk and have it MD5 checked. So just asking as I cant have this happen anymore, one is $99 and P2 is $149 for the key. So any thoughts?

I'd be very careful in investing in any Panasonic products - especially software. They have been known to not provide support if there is not a huge demand for it. And their drivers usually take about 3-5 months after the OS release. And also have an excellent track record of product abandonment at any time. So no thank you. I'd not spend $150 on P2 Viewer Plus knowing that it will not last long. And I still don't understand the logic of shrinking down 64 Gb P2 to 60 Gb P2. Are they aware of proxy files also being recorded to P2 and that 4 Gb helps a lot?
Shot Put Pro 5 now has XX Hash 64. It's much faster than MD5. I've been using it for over 6 years now. And at last can have a peace of mind that all of my offloaded media is 100% error free that commonly not reported by the OS (bad or flaky USB3 cable, bus, etc).Last edited by lonewolf2koc@hotmail.com; 04-18-2016, 06:47 PM.

I also don't understand why they would move to a 60GB card unless it has something to do with speed in the bus system of the device. Thanks for the info on the 2 devices. I had a very had time finding who even sold the key for the P2 viewer. Do have a question, I currently run Mac, however looking to replace soon with a PC, can the key for Shot Pro move from mac to Windows?- HXP250 - Mark III 5D - CS6 - MAC PRO 8 CORE -

P2 Viewer Plus is just not working out for me. The GUI and overall functionality should still be in beta test mode. And yes, finding the dealer for the key alone is a huge waste of time. Panasonic can't even get that right. With that being said, I think P2 Viewer Plus will be doomed for end of life sooner or later.
I have both platform versions of Shot Put Pro. Sadly they are coded independently from different programmers. This means the Mac version will not be the same as the Windows ver. For the past 5 years, I feel the Windows ver is left behind by couple of years. Mac is the preferred OS for Image Products. It has the highest level of users and new features. Their latest Win version still works fine but I don't see XX Hash 64 checksum. Still using the older and slower MD5. They're working on the new version to be comparable to the Mac's latest but it's still in beta stage. The big problem with Windows Shot Put Pro is the driver letter support. Let's say you're a heavy P2 user and have more than 23 P2 drives. Windows need at least 2-4 letters (C, D, E, F). And their latest Win ver is extremely buggy when it comes to copying multiple P2 volumes. I can only copy 3-4 volumes max before it crashes. 1-2 max drive letter is more realistic with the Win ver. Totally unacceptable for the Windows ver not being able to handle high volume ##.
However, on the Mac SPP, I can copy 8-12 volumes at the same time and there is no volume ## limit. In fact, I had about 50 P2 on-line P2 volumes (Type S) from various readers, MSU10 and more 5-slot readers. It worked very well.
