Not sure why the file size didn't get smaller. In the project setup prior to importing the clips did you check the remover 2:3:3:2?

    Good luck,

Hey Timur, I actually refer people to this thread alot from other forums. The misconception is still rampant out there and it can sometimes be tedious finding the thread.

Actually, if you can just bypass creating a sticky and just staple the thread to the foreheads of the naysayers, that would help.

That might be difficult. Just count me as another vote for a sticky.

        Jan,
Yes, the checkbox was checked, though it did not perform its function, I still manually removed advanced pulldown, it did "de-interlace" and frame rate did turn 23.98, but the file size did not shrink at all... honestly, the file size isn't a problem, if it works it works, but 23.98 is the correct frame rate not 24 right?

23.98 is correct frame rate as FCP reads it; it's actually 23.976.

Don't, however, confuse removing pulldown with "deinterlacing." I know you only meant that you don't see the interlacing anymore, but there are many who confuse the two.

Never, ever try to deinterlace 24p or any other progressive footage.

yea, i meant removing pulldown, sorry... so I guess it's ok with it being the same file size as the raw 1080pA straight out of camera clip?

I found the problem, I didn't update my FCP2, after the update, it automatically removed the pulldowns, therefore the file size diminished, footage de-interlaced, and the frame rate converted to 23.98

Thanks all & thanks Jan for reading my careless error...

wow there was a lot of info here to digest...

I will hold on my opinion until I really see a hvx200a on a big HD screen in 720p and 1080p modes.

                    Films listed

                    Hello Huy Vu,

I checked out your film(s) on vimeo. good job. What type of dolly did you have?
do you have one of the 35mm adapters for the focus, depth of field, etc?

I am interested in your technical setup. I have an HVX200, but not yet acquired any of the things like matte boxes, adapters, etc. Figure I better learn to use it first!

                    Good job on the films.

Look at the RESULTS produced from any camera to decide whether you want it or not. It's the RESULTS that count right? If you see RESULTS you like, you ask, "What did they shoot that with?", "What did they do in POST?". Then make a choice based on results and your preferences.
