    Want some more frame rates?

Not that we're greedy or anything -- I mean, we're using the only camera on the market that offers variable frame rates under $67,000 after all...

    ... but what if 12, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 30, 32, 36, 48, and 60 just aren't ENOUGH?

    Wouldn't you like more?

    At least a few more?

Like, say: 6fps. Six would be nice.

    But 4 would be better.

And 3 would be better too.

And what's with the jump from 48 to 60? Why can't we have 52? Or 56? Or 44 or 27?

That sure would be nice, wouldn't it?

Aw, never mind, I imagine I'm just being greedy. No other camera offers more than three, so a dozen frame rates should be more than enough for anyone, right?

    Never mind.

No, no firmware upgrade that I know of.

And I wouldn't want to have to wait that long anyway...

And the thing is, if you're shooting in the Native mode, a slower frame rate could give you even more runtime on a P2 card.

For example, if I just put one single solitary 4GB card in the camera, it'd be pretty cool if that single, solitary, lonely 4GB card could give me a runtime of, say, two hours.

Probably would look something like this:

Of course, that would require a REALLY slow frame rate to do that.

Something like two frames per second.

Your article on variable frame rates did hint there was the possiblity for different combinations than advertised...

If you could kindly tell us all of your secrets, I promise not to go Jack Bauer on you...

Well, see, here's the thing -- if you were to shoot at something as low as 2fps, you would get 123 minutes per 4gb card. But you'd have to accept that your footage would have really long exposure times, which might make for time-lapse-style streaks.

                          Like these, perhaps:
