I can help you. I'm a YouTube upload junky. I can tell you how to render out for YouTube but you have to provide your timeline settings, what NLE your using, the footage specs and your pixel aspect ratio.

great job, I liked it all except for the lighting in a lot of parts. it was just too well lit for my taste, it didn't look natural (to me). Like part 1 at the dinner table. And my least favorite shot was the potato slide. All in all I did enjoy the whole thing. The audio was great. Good job!
    thanks for sharing.

Thanks. I had a very talented DP. The scene setting was just the F6 default in squeeze mode. I posted in PPro on a 23.976 timeline. Color corrected in PPro and boosted the contrast of the overall project. That's about it.

Personally, I liked the fact that he didn't shoot it conventionally. The girl's face is in the mirror and you can see the guy in the profile.

I agree with craigbowman. Technically you did a great job, ShadowProd. What settings did you use?

It should have been behind them for 2 seconds then get a close up her face, then his face, then mount the camera on the hood and get a shoot from the front and then shoot a corner face shot, then go back to the shot from behind them. Then get a close ups again... Not enough shots in that scene.

I thought this was great! I actually registered with the site just so I could comment on it. I sort of predicted the twist, but I thought it was planned, not a surprise. Either way, I thought everything was great, except when the "son" died, I felt the acting was a little over the top. Great job though!

Technical: Nicely blocked and good audio!

Story: I found the ending too predictable. Naming a short "Deception" is like telegraphing a blow during a fight. I was spending a lot of time expecting the kidlets are gonna get it. There was so much emphasis on the "phony son for money" routine that you're telegraphing "get ready for the twist" halfway through the story.

This is just my opinion of course, but I would have made it a lot less clear what was going on with the couple. Let the audience finally figure out the money scheme as the twist is moments away from unfolding and not halfway in. That way people can slap themselves on the back thinking they've figured out its really a money scheme and then seconds later blammo! Welcome to the twist.

Thought other dvxuser's might be interested. Shot this on the DVX100a F6 squeeze mode - no scene file changes. Cut on Adobe PPro.
