The DVX100 in: Jackass Number Two

    #2
yeh, they were everywhere in that film...i bet probably 90% was shot with the dvx and it looked great too..
i've been here at the birmingham sidewalk film festival this weekend and have seen about a dozen dvx-shot films so far. some of them look great blown up, some look terrible. it's amazing the kind of different qualities you can get out of the cam depending on how well you know how to use it...i can say my favorite so far was a sci-fi/horror/comedy feature called "Firefly"...hopefully it will gain some popularity, it was very entertaining...

How did the footage look blown up to 35? I wont allow myself to waste $10 to see it.

Ah. I think it might be worth it just to see how miniDV holds up on the big screen.

Firefly is really good -- but unless I'm getting it confused, I saw it almost a year ago -- rented it at Blockbuster. About the kid who wants to be a horror effects guy, right?

I saw Jackass 2 last night -- I thought maybe I had spotted an HVX in there, too.

Some of the footage was so good I thought it must be the HVX, with the DVX as back-up?

It looks like they might have shot some Promo stuff in HD with the HVX, and the main part of the movie with DVX100b's

or they could have used a HD plugin to bump it up. But you may be right, cause the promo stuff does sorta look like film. sorta?

nope, different "firefly"...this one is kind of hard to describe, but it is kind of david lynchian..

well worth to see it. I saw an advance of BORAT the movie, like 2 weeks ago. Funny but more over the top than Jackass, made me actually DISLIKE him now. Screw BORAT movie.
