In the past, I have used scene file settings from other users (mostly Barry's)- and although they are good starts, I would like to finally sit down and make my own. I have access to a Sony LMD-2030W monitor to use during my adjustments (an entry level pro LCD- but better than my $200 computer monitor I'm guessing). Since you can have 24 scene files on an SD card- my goal is to create 3 scene files for each of my lenses (since each lens differs in sharpness, speed, contrast etc.). This way I can have a scene file tailored to each lens for different kinds of shooting situations:
Low light scene file (set the lens wide open-f/2.8, cam at ISO800)
Normal scene file (set the lens for about f/4-5.6, cam at ISO400)
Day Exterior scene file (keep at about f/5.6 engage ND, cam at ISO200)
Or is this overkill? Would just three scene files be pretty universal for all the lenses I have?
