If you take two samples one from each internal AVCHD vs PRORES the main difference is this. AVCHD smears the image compared to the PRORES file. It's not by much but enough to rob the image of some detail. This smearing also contributes to higher probability to run into banding with AVCHD than with PRORES. The higher bitrate and nature of PRORES makes it more robust when moving the camera fast.

I cant see any major discernible difference between AVCHD and Prores HQ (except on the scopes) but 4 2 2 is absolutely the better way to go for post work.
I believe one gets an external recorder for more reasons rather than just the expectation....ones pictures will automatically look better.www.shooterfilm.co.nz

Okay, so I got myself:
A nice monitor.
Automatic backup of my media.
Works in the exactly the codec I want (422).
Works with no problems so far together with the AG-AF 101.
Small, lightweight, almost obscenely easy to use even for someone who is no DP (moi).
Nice little travel case, docking station & adapters, drives are easy to install and the touch screen display is fine and not complicated to use.
Questions remaining:
Why no AC connector/adapter (at least here in Germany)?
Will it be reliable?
Are connectors and body stable enough in constant work?
When will the AVID-codec come?
What else might be in store with firmware upgrades?
For the price it has it's the machine for me to have. Others can do more and better maybe - but: My neighbours 7er BMW also is quicker than my little Suzuki. But as the latter is good enough for me and for what I need I rather spend my money on other things (cameras for instance..;-)).
Good buy? Ask me in January but for now I honestly like to think: Yes.

Has anyone seen this one? camera is set 24fps and some of the footages have some sort of mirror effect.

I will wait with a final verdict until I have really tested the machine in more daring circumstances, but for now it seems to be quite okay.
