    Good news.

I now have G2 firmware from undisclosed source. All seems pretty promising.
Really stunning stuff here, thank you for what you've done for us! I love GH13

But GH1 only support FAT32, not exFAT, this limits single file size to no more than 4GB, which typically means video clip no longer than 30 minutes, thus make the removal of 30min limit somewhat lame. What a pity.

Is it possible to port G2' support for SDXC(exFAT) into GH13?

Your text is very uncorrect here. 30min is not related to 4GB limit.
As well as support of SDXC and exFAT do not mean support of files with more than 4Gb file size.
Any porting is, of course, impossible.

I currently use B) setting (stable in both FHD and SH), so I set H to 22 and L to 16. They are working as I expected. I got around 21mbps footage from H and 15mbps footage from L. Thank you, Vitaliy and a nice request, jobless.

OK, just tried it. I'm not sure how useful it is just to say: "It works" but, It works. ;)

AVCHD file spans on the GH1. Lot more convenient then having to wait a couple seconds to hit record again.

                    BTW..

I need to know TV modes (FullHD TV connected via HDMI to camera) while playing photos with various aspect ratios and videos at 50fps, 60fps, 50/60i containers, 24/25p native.
Please check your HDMI Mode menu setting before testing (must be AUTO).
Vitaliy, did you get ALL the data you needed from that? Finally got my Mini-HDMI cable today. I also have a HDMI capture card for non-HDCP video.. if stills or clips would be in any way useful to any testing.

John, it is clearly not place to discuss your understanding of my words.
PM me if you want to ask such questions next time.

                      As for my answer.
I don't know how you could interpret it as suggestion to make 12 GOP length.
Again - 24p patch changes GOP from 15 to 12. So, in 60i (without patch) GOP length is bigger. If you have problems in 24p you must input bigger GOP values in corresponding patch.
Sorry and thanks. I'll go away to another section now. Keep up the good work.

Sorry I didn't notice that this thread is only for pure firmware development discussion.

And here is the test result of mine (3.36), checked:
                        version change (2)
                        version compare patch
                        3rd-party battery
                        interface language (english)
                        30min limit removal
                        native 24p/25p
                        video bitrate adjustment simplified (22M)
                        overall bitrate adjustment (24M)
                        limiting bitrate adjustment (26M)
                        audio encoding bps (384000)

Everything went OK during firmware upgrade, but after the upgrade, you can record video in AVCHD FHD or SH, but playback doesn't work, it said "motion image can not be recognized" or something like that, and you can't delete those video clips either. But the video clips work well on my computer.

                          Sensor m4 Adjustment 3 Test

I have redone my Sensor m4 Adjustment 3 test with the setting at "5".

I could not repeat the white balancing issue I experienced, so that was likely due to a testing error. So no noticable changes as of yet to report with the Adjustment 3 setting.

Each adjustment tested in 4 conditions:

                            1) On-Camera Light On - ISO 320
                            2) Light On - ISO 1600

Sensor m4 Adjustment 4 Tested with below settings

                            Set 1) 419
                            Set 2) 1676
                            Set 3) 838 (unpatched)

                            Results:

                            http://www.jerseyforged.com/sampleclips/m4_adjust4.zip

The setting 419 shows a static picture darkening on the bottom half of screen. Not noticable on chart in below example since it's so bright....

The 1676 setting showed no detectable difference from unpatched. Video showed no additional irregularies discernable from this test on any patch. Picture darkening was consistent throughout video in first test.

                            --- Update ---

Testing a Adjustment 4 setting of 209 caused the darkening to occur higher in the screen... 3 quarters up to be exactly.. so the effect is linear like the results in m3 Adjustment 1.

Testing a Adjsutment 4 setting of 0 shows the darkening (or lack of lightening) on the whole image. There's a yellowing as well, but that may be due to the darkening bringing out the color temperature of my background lighting.

As well as support of SDXC and exFAT do not mean support of files with more than 4Gb file size.
Any porting is, of course, impossible.
I mean with 4GB single file size limit, with typical 17Mbps video bitrate, one single file can only contains about 30min's video clip.

With exFAT, at least you get rid of the hard limit of 4GB single file size, with FAT32 you won't be able to get a single file larger than 4GB.
