I'm sort of concerned about the noise/blocking in mountains at 1:02-1:40.
Does that indicate something is wrong with the camera or is it a known limitation of an unhacked gh2?

Yea, its called bitrate limitations.
Hacked, your getting a higher bitrate... so usually you'll see less noise in the shadows. At least for the kinda shooting your doing.
If your doing lowlight, your probably always going to get noise.
Your video seems soft to my eyes, but that could just be Vimeo's compression. What type of Variable ND filter did you use? Cheaper ones can soften your video. -
