    GH2 First Micro-bio for Florist

My first micro bio for a small business here on V.Island. I used the Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 for most of the shots as the workspace was small. 17mm came in really handy. I also used the super Takumar 50mm 1.4 which is a favorite. I used some foam core on the interior shots to get a bit of bounce from the window light onto the flowers during the prep scenes. I'm still learning so much about shooting and post production... and I am satisfied with this project and how far I could take it. I used neat video to clean up the interview spots which worked great. I hope that by sharing this maybe someone can learn a camera technique, or learn about using bounce lighting, or using a slider,...or maybe just learn what not to do too! Above all, let's seek to inspire others in what we do.Cheers, and thanks for taking a second to view my work. Your comments are appreciated.GH2vk3.61 65Mbit_3GOP_42Mbit_720_12GOP

Paul, some nice work! A nice mix of more formal shots with more impromptu, 'relaxed' framed shots. Kept the visuals moving, but not frantic or hurried. Good job. What adapter do you use with the Takumar 50mm, and does the Tamron use the same adapter mount?

haha, we used to pick on the pansies in my neighborhood too

Nice work, I think you turned a totally boring and uninteresting topic into something watchable, and with style. keep up the good work man.

@Vide, hey, thanks for thoughtful compliments. For the Tak I used a cheap m43 - m42 adapter. I found one one eBay for $10. The Tamron has a pentax k mount, adapter also on eBay. (m43-PK filter).

I would cut out some of the out-of-focus shots and shots where the framing is a bit off that don't match up with the superb quality of the rest of the film (for instance, the shots at 0:38 and 1:03). They don't seem to add anything to the story so lose 'em

That said, this is a very pretty, charming short film. Thanks for sharing it

Thanks for the honest critique Jester2138. I see what you mean in those shots. I like cheese on many things except films.
              Cheers.

the cuts are a little frantic...like you're trying to squeeze in all your favorite shots. as you do more, you'll relax a bit, let us see the person speaking more and only show us your best/perfect shots. hint: not every b-roll shot has to move or pull focus to be interesting....strive for a balance between camera movement and keeping the camera still.

@averanYeah, I think I get what you mean. Let the shots breathe a bit. It's all good stuff. Best/perfect shots +1. Gotta keep working on that..thanks for the comments.
