    GH2 for Sports Illustrated

Just a simple little shoot for some web videos at the talent's house - at least that's what the hiring producer said, and didn't bother to mention who exactly the talent was.

    Anyway...

As well as the other Howie Long video.

Total kit was the GH2, Leica Summicron-R 50mm, Sennheiser G1 wireless pack plumbed directly into the camera, an inexpensive set of sticks, and a Lowel RIFA-55 and Pro-light. Not that the shoot challenged any of it, but still...

Yup, I've been there too. Did you get to meet his Dad? He's bigger than Howie!

Interesting that they were cool with the GH2, not that it isn't up to the task, but the producer's usually are pretty picky, warranted or not. Did I read it right that you recorded audio to camera?

Yes, you did read that right. I actually love the Senn G1 wireless kit with the GH2, since there's a nice round dial to fine-tune the receiver's level out - and thus the overall audio levels. I've used the combo weekly for months for simple church announcement videos, so I'm confident in it. The bits were short enough that we could easily review and reshoot if things suddenly went clustery. An hour-long one-shot interview? No, I'd shy from that combo.

There was no producer onsite, just me. I listed my cameras via email and they gave them a thumbs-up.
