Each year Scott Kelby of famed Photoshop World events and of Kelby training comes to Maine for vacation with his family. For the last few years he has contacted my friend Scott Eccleston of the popular photography blog http://weeklyphototips.blogspot.com/. This year we went out shooting with Mr. Kelby around Portland's old port district. One of the things he wanted to do was capture old piers using very long exposures to make the water take on that dreamy soft quality. So we asked Mr. Kelby to do a quick video tutorial on long exposures. I captured all the footage in this video using the GH2 and a Canon 50mm 1.4 lense. I used the Fader ND from LightCraft workshops to keep the shutter speed properly conformed. Audio for Mr. Kelby's segment was captured using a Rode Video Mic to a secondary recorder. Scott's audio was captured directly to camera but with the help and an external preamp. Here's the video:
