I think if the GH5 had only been good at one thing it would be easier to look for improvements. But it is still good at lots of things which makes it much harder to look for improvements because they tend to be application specific not general. It still has the best image stabilization combination with Dual IS lenses. So the first thing it could improve is AF because that may be needed hand held and exploit its IS. Don't think we will see that? For my application do not need either IS or AF but would like RAW to make post easier. I have Ninja V so ProRes RAW would be great though BRAW would be fine too just need to buy a VIdeo Assist 12G. A firmware update to either GH5 or GH5S for RAW would also be great and would almost satisfy all my needs. 8K RAW would be icing on cake !

Dynamic range is the maximum difference between a photo's lightest and darkest tones, so a greater range is a positive attribute. Image noise is random specks of brightness or color, so less image noise is also a positive characteristic.
There's Roger. Then there's Annie Leibovitz.

To answer the original question posted...
No, I'm no longer interested in a GH6. I moved from GH4 and GH3 cameras to Canon cameras almost 5 years ago and now have a C70 and an XF705 and couldn't really be happier. DPAF and Canon color science are everything I need right now.Jaime Vallés

Why did Panny not simply put the GH5s sensor with IBIS into a new GH6? Port the software from the S5 as they seem to be doing with this GH5mkii and you'd have a solid enough marketable camera. Instead they're releasing a same sensor, same everything "upgrade"... it's utterly baffling to me as a decade long loyalist to the GH series.

So to the "still interested" people: Panasonic is announcing "new GH series cameras" on may 25th via a live Youtube thing: https://shop.panasonic.com/lumix-live

Press release today, event coming 5/25:
"We are committed to further enhancing the G Series lineup and performance of conventional Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and lenses to meet the continuous demands of creators who value the strong advantage that only MFT can offer."
Sounds like the following was communicated:
1. GH5II definitely coming soon
2. New zoom lens (something to match the 10-25)
3. GH6 development announcement

Sounds like what I was hoping for - an announcement that they don't see the m2 as the successor, but as a stop on the road to what's coming next. Glad to see they will be talking on the GH6 and curious how that will be. Also encouraging that they are developing a new zoom to match the impressive 10-25.
