XT3 Batterygrip Question

Hi,


does anybody know if it's possible to power the XT3 with the VG-XT3 batterygrip externally through a dummy battery?
Does it need to have a battery in it in order for it to work? Or just the single dummy battery can do the trick?

The battery grip has a "drawer" that two batteries go in, I'm not sure you could put a wired dummy battery in there.
