    EOS R / RP doubts

    Guys,

I was hopping to get some feedback from someone who actually owns the EOS R because I've been getting some conflicting feedback from people. I know that when shooting 4K the DPAF won't work on the RP and it also has a 1.7 crop. But some people said that the on the R you still have DPAF in 4K and you DON'T have the 1.7 crop. Can an ACTUAL EOS R owner confirm this?

The R had DPAF in 4K. The R doesn't have full frame 4K, though. I don't know about the RP, but I do know that cropped 4K will look the best until Canon figures out a way to oversample their 4K images.

Sorry, so the DPAF DOES work in 4K on the R? Does the R have the 1.7 crop in 4K or is it only on the RP?

Yes, DPAF works in 4K on the R (with the 1.7x-ish crop).
