Komputerbay 64GB 1000x vs Transcend 64GB 1000x for ML RAW?

Hey guys, I've just sold my 5DMKII and buying a MKIII tomorrow, mainly for ML RAW. Just wondering which cards to get; so far best price seems to be Komputerbay or Transcend 64GB 1000x's.

Which of these has best write/read speeds do you find and works best at 1080p ML 24fps.

    Cheers!

The 1050 works on the 5d3 it won't on the 5d2.

We tested the 1050x on the 5d3 during a cemera meet up recently along with other cards and while it wasn't very extensive test we let it record for 5 minutes full hd raw and past 5minutes
we stopped since we were doing other tests and concluded that 5 minutes per take was good enough for our needs.

Very Interesting, but the 64GB is still faster?

among the 1000X komputerbay cards the 64 and 32 gig have benchmarks at par with the lexars I've tested. The 128 is very slightly slower.

I don't trust KB cards to live a long life with no issues. There are reports already of fatal failures in the middle of a shooting. I would go for Transcend, if it is fast enough (I'm not sure if that's the case).

                Nice.

Those problems with the 32GB 1000x Transcend stopping the recording with the 5D3... if those are at 1920x1152 at 25fps, I guess it would be perfect at 1920x1080, or even 1920x1040 (1.85:1), at 24p, right? Because $310 for a 128GB that can hold 25 minutes of footage would be good enough for me... only if it is reliable

"The second card I tried were the Komputerbay Professional 64GB 1000x cards. I got two of them. The first one died on me after the first use but the other one worked." --> that's the nightmare I would rather avoid; it can happen after the first use, or after a month or three...

btw: typo: lexar 1000x, not 100x, I guess

Also, a1ex posted this some time ago in the ML forum:

I just captured a whole full card of 1920x1080p 25fps RAW with the Transcend 1000x 128gb card. Funny thing is, I couldn't capture that before the newest build, previously had to crop to 2.20:1.

The later builds uses the buffer much better thus even the cards which aren't the fastest can be used longer without dropped frames.

                      awesome
                      thanks, maarek and Osslund

for me, that takes $300 off of the price of the 5D3+RAW

Though the previous build I used was of the sixth day so it was already using the new buffering system. I'll try full hd again this weekend and see what happens.
