I'm not really sure why you feel a start/stop would be necessary with jib size device which can be lowered into start/stop position for verification in 4 seconds? We do it all the time. It's a great way to verify that the shot was recorded properly.

    Real cranes are another story.

Camranger looks pretty good- provides remote monitoring too.

8 foot and 12 foot gib/crane work. Rack focus ability is not needed but critical focus before rolling would be good.

    Start/Stop is necessary.

When you say crane, what type are you talking about?

Also something along the lines of a 2 channel BarTech BFD would give you wireless focus & iris if your lenses are geared.

Remote video start/stop for the 5D3

Any recommendations on a good controller (wireless or wired) for the 5D3?

Getting ready to shoot my first raw short film and have a couple of crane shots so remote start/stop control is essential. Focus and iris control would be nice.

    Looking at the Okii
