5D-III new firmware same internal recoring time?

So quick question, I am guessing that the 30 min max internal recording time is still there? I ask because I have not had a chance to download the new firmware. I have a 90 minute live music shoot coming up, and plan to use the Canon as a B roll, however I have to have someone start and start it since the 30 min limit. I know I can get a external recorder, but too late right now. So anyone know?

Magic Lantern will automatically restart it for you when its reaches 4gig.
Its a feature I find handy when I'm shooting 2 camera sit down interviews.

I know the new firmware still stops recording at 4gig.

Hmm no it doesn't. If you go over 4gig, it splits the file. The hardcoded limit is at 29 minutes, not gigs.

if you place the split file on the timeline, is it seamless? The ML restart function has a bit of delay, around 2 seconds I think.

          it's seamless within the 29min 59sec limit.

Canon EOS Utility has a tool for you to combine the split files into one file, very quick operation.

Ok, so it still stops at the 30 min mark. Thanks for the info.
