    Is it me or???

I'm looking at my 5d with the lens and as I stare at the front of the lens it looks like it is point to the left. I switch lens and still it looks like it is pointing to the left and not straight on. Is this the norm?

No idea what you're talking about. Maybe that the mount is wrongly assembled? If that's what you're thinking, there's an "easy" way to test it: take the camera outside, with a tripod, to a place where you can take some stills of very-far-away things that are all at approximately the same distance (city skyline, horizon, etc); put it on live view with manual focus; close the iris down to f/4 or f/5.6 (the fastest aperture that gives you sharp corners), and keep the DoF preview button pressed (or, even better, use a manual lens); take the focus square to one corner, go to 10x focus aid, and focus (manually); move the square to the other corners, and check them with 10x focus aid: if they're out of focus, you're screwed
