Viewing jpegs or video on the 5D?

Someone please help before I strangle myself with my 5D neck strap...

I'm simply trying to put a 2.35 ratio jpg image or a clip of video, shot with the same 5D then exported in CS5 with the 2.35 ratio back onto the card and view it on the 5D so I can mask off the screen... but none of the files are viewable on the 5D...

I'm sure there is some giant simple thing I am missing here, will someone please fill me in, thanks...

You are in luck. Follow this tutorial but instead of the color bars, insert the 2.35 proportion image.

Still can't get anything to be viewable on the 5D... I followed that tutorial to the letter, but still couldn't see image... how is everyone doing this??
