Nice looking stuff. The highlights in the opening seemed a little hot on his face, but I guess it was natural light.

Also, I noticed some odd artifacting in his legs during the slo-mo run. I guess the slo-mo was done with AE (which would have caused the artifacts)?

Other than that, great looking stuff. Funny too!

Yes, the artifacts are there because of Twixtor plug in, and the complex background.

Thanks for the reply though, glad you enjoyed it.

I like it! Maybe something for slow mo you could try, especially in this scene is having the guy with the sword running slower than normal and converting the 60p to 30p to half speed. That way it will look super slow without having to use twixtor!

I tried doing this once and was definately pleased with the results. Obviously is only works for some instances.

Something is not right, you exported as 24p not 23.976 probably ,or shutter was below 50 sometimes.

Pretty sure it was exported at 23.976...

On a side note: For those interested... Here is a teaser pic for Episode Zero!

Wow, if anyone's noticed, the scenery of this video is very pretty. As the video comes in, one thing I think is a bit off is the facial exposure or something around there; I can see where I'm guessing an after-effect was used to darken the sky along the trees, but I'm guessing that the slightly overexposed time of day for that particular angle still caused the face to be slightly stronger in tone than when the video progresses. As the video goes on, I'm guessing that the time of day became a bit cloudier or darker, which seem to require less darkening effects in post and allowed for a more balanced exposure for the faces and scenery. Problem with this is, I think it garnered too equal of an exposure at this later feel for the faces, and caused the skin to turn more orange and plain out of probably a just a bit of off white balance and too less lighting contrast. Overall, the effect is that this video is extremely well shot; you have talent for knowing how to apply depth of field differently for each shot, how to capture action and scenery perfectly with each shot, and how to set up shots to make the viewer feel they already know the area that they're looking at. The negatives, though, is that while the exposure and post-effects that control the exposure and color are extremely pretty and create a very characteristic look, they also are a bit imperfect all throughout just to the point that its a few tiny points away from "Wow, you captured the absolute perfect tone for even one of my own scripts, lemme hire you as DP..."

I mean, I know it's a joke video, but it was really shot very well to the point I felt like truly paying attention to any flaws. If your other work is as consistent and artistically driven as this in the eye for scenery and shot-set-ups, I don't doubt that you'll be shooting beautiful films in no time, I myself have a script that requires almost the exact the look of this video - it even involves a chase and fight just like this joke script, although the scene of my script is more of a romantic drama focusing on violence and abuse, incorperating lots of of slow motion. Anyway, seriously keep on making shorts and films, and keep on the forum, I spot a huge talent behind this video, and it's really rare that I think that way about anything I see. Maybe it's just that I'm only now starting to look at other footage more often, but I'm getting very excited about the new wave of talent I keep seeing. I keep mentioning it, but there's that Ama Daga video or whatever on in the Canon section, and the shots with the bugs on the body simply blew me away...Every video I now see is no longer "sucky and student film-like", it's always more like "Wow, this video is amazing and simply needs a more talented editor to whittle it down and execute the perfection that the cameraman captured."

Hey Snapper, thank you so much for the feedback man. I appreciate it. While working on the next episode, I feel like some expectations have been raised. I'm trying to bring something fun out... and very random... as random as this. Hopefully you'll enjoy it.

Thanks again, and I'll work on all stated above.
