    Scene Viewer

    I've seens directors use some sort of eye piece to see the scene... anyone knows what it is? (sort of a single barrel binocular)

    It almost looks like a simple lens... but I think they can change the field of view as well....

    It's called a director's viewfinder. It's used to compose a shot.

        if you want use a digital camera, works just as well or better... maybe the lens isn't as perfect, but whatever, you're not the DP
