What are currently the best cinema zooms under 10K in 2016?

    Hey there DVXuser!

I am a freelance 1st camera assistant and I'm thinking about upping my game a bit with glass. I am wondering what would be a good investment today under 10K (that's all I have saved right now).

Currently, I'm looking at Tokina (50-150, 16-28 T3.0) to give you an example of where I'm going with this. Does anything else stack up to these in the 10K range? Would you consider shooting at 3.0 as a DP if they came with your camera assistant on smaller projects? Should I go for primes? If so which ones, for the price?

    Thanks for any input!! Cheers

    Tyler,
I've been happy with the Sony 28-135 on my FS7. But for a non-Sony mount, G.L. Optics has some nice conversions. Take a look at their modified Sigma 18-35, available in PL, Nikon, and Canon mounts.
