PETITION for XF605 to add Cinema Raw Light Firmware Upgrade

It has Digic DV 7 and basically the same functions as the C70 except that it’s a 1” sensor and integrated lens.

Excellent thought but likely will never happen...I used to petition (in my head) the same type of feature requests for other cameras for years.

And cool use of the 605 above.

Maybe there’s a chance? Remember during the pandemic, not too long ago, Canon did a “corporate social responsibility” (campaign) and added new firmware upgrades to the XF405, XA-50, etc..providing Log or new codecs. I figured since Canon recently added Cinema Raw Light to the C70, and given the previous models above mentioned, that Canon can give us Cinema Raw Light.

        There's always a chance...maybe if it's possible, IDK.

But they for sure gave the C70 CRL to keep the outrage at bay after releasing the R5 C.

Does it have the bandwidth available for writing to the SD cards?

If not, the only other problem I see is that Canon is still selling the XF705 as the superior camera so it might be a hard sell.

Well I'm pretty sure the premium costs are Dual Digic DV 6 processors in the XF705 as well as a more future proof codec in XF-HEVC which was a pain 4 years ago. Perhaps Dual Digic DV 6 processors are required for XF-HEVC processing but imo redundant compared to the XF605's new gen Digic DV 7 (shared by C70) and features Eye Tracking tech. That's the only premium differences is that the XF-HEVC codec can squeeze more data efficiently and future proof whereas XF-AVC is more flexible but takes more storage. The trade offs are weird. So it could be something subjective for workflow and costs. My thing is that 1inch sensor users should benefit like the C70 users since it shares the same Digic processor and tech aside from sensor tech and RAW Lite. Maybe 2 years later they add RAW.

Thanks. I updated mine today. I noticed that XF-AVC now records 600mbs at 60p.
