Jesus, man. The market is taking another dump today. I thought this would be bad, but it's even worse than I imagined. And considering the Pandemic hasn't even peaked yet, who knows where we are headed.

The virus is running marathons her in Colorado. We went from 17 to 33 cases in less than 72hrs. A big A/V event at my hotel for sunday just postponed and I heard through the grapevine the largest hotel in Denver, The Gaylord Rockies lost 4 million just last week due to reservation and event cancellations.

As of right now, Im more worried about what this fear will do to the economy than my own health.

Some people in this country are of the opinion that just "wash hands" or "the flu is worse", "the risk is low" is not enough or even counterproductive, it seems others get irritated by this and think it is sufficient.

Panic is no good, but being realistic, and that means looking at what is/was happening in China, Korea, Japan, and Italy, is the best way.

Several new cases in South Florida (Broward County), both seem to have originated at Port Everglades. There are over twenty cruise lines operating from there. Princess just canceled a Caribbean trip, Metro returned to dock too.

PS. At first, I thought NBA overreacted but then I recalled playing b-ball in a gym ... and remembered that it's not all fast breaks and long outside jumpers but a bunch of bumping - and the related breathing and other bodily fluid exchange - and elbowing and so on and figured that Silver really had no choice.

British Government just announced the next steps for the UK, interestingly they aren't cancelling everything. One of the boffins gave worst-case scenario numbers which would be nearly 600,000 deaths out of a population of 66 million. But given he said we have no data for people who have contracted the virus but have had no symptons, as there is no test for that, the numbers could be far fewer. He reckons we are still four weeks behind Italy in terms of the scale of the outbreak and 10-14 weeks away from the peak. Let's hope that is an overestimate too.

That cruise ship off Northern California was allowed to dock on Monday. 19 out of 21 positives were the crew (~1,100 employees), out of 2,400 passengers, there were two. All quarantined at the moment and/or receiving treatments.
