Macro Lens = I Need one?????

I recently bought an adapter for my camera which would make any lens into macro, but it really doesn't work at all. Price is a factor so I'm looking for a Vintage lens even if possible. Preferably 50mm or higher and a lens specifically for Macro.

F Stop is not an importance as I will always have light when using this lens,

What kind of adapter did you get, and with what lens are you using it?

As far as vintage stuff, Yashica ML 55mm and 100mm macro lenses are easy to find on ebay, but they tend to be pricey. You can find Yashica ML 50mm lenses are all over the place, often for under $50, and they made a macro adapter that works very well (I have one)... but the adapters are harder to find.

Keep in mind that it is easier to work with longer lenses...

I bought that same adapter and it doesn't work for me or I just don't really know how to use it :undecided. Everything is out of focus and it requires an insane amount of light.....

Have you tried different combinations of the tubes? It's in three parts, and depending on the lens may need only one, may need a couple, or may need all three.
