I have a question about a new graphic card i want to buy.
SVGA 512MB ATI SAPPHIRE X1600PRO AGP. Is this enough to run maya and adobe after effects? at this moment i own a ati radeon 7000 and my computer specs are 3g of ram athlon 64 3000+ 2,02gh agp slot for graphic card thanks Last edited by ilauzirika; 01-10-2007 at 10:58 PM. |

Yes it should be enough. It all depends on how high-poly you are working though, but even I can still do practically anything I want with my X800XT. If you want to render more quickly in both AE and Maya, I would invest in a better CPU though.

More CPU and RAM the better, now the push is towards multiple cores, eg Dual cores and quad cores.
Of course if you have the money then you can buy a Boxx Worstation with 16 Cores!! thats a mini-render Farm sittting on top of your desktop. I see a future when, films like Shrek will be modelled, textured animated and rendered all on one desktop, thats the dream anyway. |
