Has anyone tried Sketch-Up (or the free Google Sketch)?
It is very simple but surprisingly powerful, especially for tinkering and creating quick buildings, houses, or whatever and you can do simple VR stuff with it. I even allows blending original 3d content with Google Earth. I have a quick mock-up of my workplace that is almost ready to post. Plus, you can export to just about any other 3d app to continue refining and do some raytracing. It's a good tool for architects and CAD types. It has a nice plug-in for Microstation and other CAD packages.

Yeah, I've spent some time playing with it... nothing too serious but it is exceptionally easy to do practical work with it. I've probably never used a more intuitive and powerful application, to be honest. Google owns it now?
