Default SHOOTOUT mp3 of 7 mics in a line.

This is a hangover, real work avoidance experiment me and my collegue did the other day.

7 mics, 7 channels, a headache and a thirst for laziness.

for those of you who can't hear, (or if you are reading this while downloading, which lets face it, is more likely on an audio forum) there is a decent 416, a borrowed 416 which is noisey, a schoeps CCM41, a tram tr50 with micron wireless, a sony ecm77b, a rode NT2a and a dynamic mic.

I got very unexpected results from the Schoeps, but I think its is simply on account of it being just sitting on the sofa, and not in the air where it should be, cos it doesn't usually sound like that, i've got some absolutely stunning results with that mic.

Also doing this has finally pushed me over the edge with my trams, and i've spoken to my guy at coffey sound, and am getting two countryman B6's ordered at the start of next week, cos those trams sound HORRIBLE! (and B6's are, as you are well aware by now, cool.)

the big mystery here is the borrowed 416, what is with that self noise... i can't give it back to the guy like that! whats going on?

I thought the Schoeps and your personal MK416 sounded the best out of the bunch. 3rd place would go to the dynamic mic at the end, just kidding.

never make test for 416 from 6 inches - they sounds horrible with proximity effect - some people like it - i dont , the schoeps sound the most natural

well I guess i'm one of them, cos I think the 416s sound full from that distance. I thought that the schoeps in this test compared with the 416 sounded a bit Mid-rangey.

ok then oleg mate, Next time I have a hangover i'll do it from 18 inches.

FoY'allInfo: the bit in the middle where i'm saying about the distance etc, thats on the schoeps too.. if that wasn't clear.
