Default Links to 3D Sites

just some random stuff...

http://forums.cgsociety.org/ - this is a great forum for 3d stuff

http://www.3dcafe.com/ - click "free stuff" and you can download a ton of free 3d models...some of them are pretty good.

http://www.highend3d.com/ - shaders and a bunch of other stuff...lots of info...

http://www.xsibase.com/ - great place to get shaders tutorials and stuff for xsi.

http://www.edharriss.com/ - the barry green of the xsi...lots of tuts and shaders and scripts for xsi...he always does a reveiw when a new version of xsi comes out.

http://www.turbosquid.com/ - great place to buy 3d models.

http://www.3d02.com/ - this place has awesome models of cars and stuff...some of the same things as turbo squid...but sometimes cheaper...

http://www.debevec.org/ - this guy is nuts...advanced technique...he has advanced allot of the techniques used in making films...HDRI...images based lighting...photogrametry...he is doing stuff now where he can capture every possible lighting scheme on a subject at 24fps...allowing you to relight the subject in an infinite amount of ways...he can only capture 4 sec of it now...but the possibilities are awesome...

http://www.digitaltutors.com/store/home.php?cat=32 - great place to buy training DVDs for 3d apps.

http://www.mayang.com/textures/ - this is probably my favorite source for textures...other then photographing my own...amazing site...you can buy all the textures for 45 bucks...which to me is a steal.

http://pixologic.com/home/home.shtml - awesome modeling tool...allot of the major vfx houses are using this now...i know ILM is using it a bit too.

http://www.cgchannel.com/ - this is updated daily i think...i go hear allot just to see if there is anything interesting posted...

Great list Rich!

It really helps to have all these links in one place, considering all the crap you have to search through when you google the words "3d".
