Default eos 7d - rolling shutter - hard

Hey there, i got my 7d just today.
Shot a couple of images.
I realized there is a HARD rolling shutter on every movement.
ok i held the camera in my hand, but look here

http://www.oneshot-tv.de/rolling.mp4

i just laughed a bit at this shot, so its shaky, and there you can see the rolling shutter.

is this normal? or could my sensor be damaged or something like that?

can a faster CF card improve the problem?

lense was 50 mm ef 1.8

It's normal. Handheld with these cameras only works with practice and concentration. I was disappointed too when I got mine, but after shooting for a month I've gotten to the point where the footage is useable in handheld mode...

Also, a wider lens helps a LOT.

Your camera is operating exactly like every other one. You can't do shaky handheld shots like that with a rolling shutter camera, or you'll get the results you got.

So turn on the lens's stabilization, and get a handheld rig, and use a wider angle lens, etc... there are lots of ways to address it, but there's nothing wrong with your camera and no, a faster card wouldn't have any effect.

That nifty fifty lens is way too telephoto on the 7d to shoot hand held with. Get a wider IS lens if your strictly handheld.

I did two 3 minute handheld interviews with the nifty fifty came out real good.
Tighten the strap around your neck ( dont kill yourself and ) and shoot .

You know a good thingto have like with any other camera is to purchase a stable tripod !

They don't overcome it. It has all the same issues. All the CMOS cameras do. Some are worse than others (like the HV20) but all the same issues remain.
