In basic terms 1:1 pixel mapping will display a picture pixel by pixel. for example if you feed our HD089B monitor a 480p resolution @ 4:3 aspect ratio and select 1:1 pixel mapping the monitor will only display an image that is exactly 480 vertical Pixels and 640 horizontal pixels. Without pixel mapping e.g.: full screen mode, the monitor will stretch the image to fit the native resolution of the monitor. Our B monitor has an LCD screen with 1024x600 resolution this will cause distortion or stretching of the image. 1:1 is very useful when you are trying to achieve an extremely fine focus because you will see the image exactly as will appear on your recording.

Very cool. Wanna send me out a demo unit?

But initially, I think that the next major step should be HD-SDI. I believe you would gain more interest in your product. RGB is fine, and not that your monitor is not professional, but I think many users are looking for that type of monitor, myself included.

Other sizes would be nice too.

These are the 100 series, which are priced very well and are targeted to the basic end user.

We are coming out with a 1000 series that will have HDSDI, image flip, and much more. The ETA for these monitors is about 3 months. Targeted and priced for the pro user.

That will be fine.... , but let me show you what we've got there:

at first, this is the image what 5D2 produce in Live View and Record modes:

this is Monitor view in "Normal" mode (camera in preview mode, connection - HDMI ) -

I draw the red line to mark real size of the monitor on this and next pictures, so everyone can see size of the image compared to avalable area ...

Next one - Monitor view in "ZOOM" mode (camera in preview mode) ...

then.. Monitor view in "Anamorphic" mode (camera in preview mode) ..... so - where is the "exact fit" of 1920 X1080 resolution you talking about ?? ... which 5D2 generate in Preview Mode

..and that's what we've got in "1:1" mode -

one more (without menu) :

So .. you are right: This mode will be the best to check the focus... but .. IF, the image CENTERED, and IF we have the button to press it and get this, then relise it and return to PREVIUS mode..
to go for it using menu will be useless - much easy to do "Zoom X5 and X10" on camera...

---------------------------------

Then, when press the "Set" button on 5D2 we've got this: "Monitor view in "ZOOM" mode (camera in RECORD mode) " .. not bad...compare to any others... - I use ONLY this Mode...

Even on it the size of final image still little bit smaller, then avalable size of the screen,
I would prefer to have this kind of view in both - Preview (1920 X 1080p) and Record (720 X480 )modes:

..and that is what your controller's supplier have to work on !!!

Don't you think, that this kind of view will be THE BEST reason for any 5D2 users to order your monitor??

( Personally I don't think that many 5D2 users will spend a lot of money to your future professional display... What for, if camera produce only 720X480 image in record mode ? )

The last two pics show you why there is a problem in it: 5D2 produce 1080 p image, NOT 1080 i (!!) .. but controller of your monitor show me this:

Camera in "RECORD" mode -

camera in "Preview" mode:

So...Do you still think that "is nothing wrong with the firmware of the controller" ??

Also, I have to extend - panels of your sunhood, have a holes for mounting screw, which I cut to the edge - so .. now I need only to release the screw a little bit to get the panels off the monitor (or place them back on it ...) .. instead to take the screw off completely ...

( ...Sorry for my bad English, I never had a chance to learn it in school.. bu I hope everyone will see what I mean.. )

I have had my HD089A for about a week now but it has rained almost every day and I have been unable to get my Kessler crane outdoors to play with it. I plan on doing so before long.

I will be using it at an outdoor wedding later this month. Which means I probably need to order that sunscreen!

I have turned the unit on with an HDMI input and was pleased with the pic. Particularly for use with a crane it is a nice sharp pic in a large size that should make composition and focusing easy.

ok serge i see what you are talking about now. I do not own a 5d2 to test on so i do not know if the problem is a result of the signal coming from your camera or you if your monitor is having an issue. BTW: Your English is way better than my Russian LOL...

1:1 mode 720x480P 16x9 from direct tv reciever. this is the way it is supposed to display.

we still have a few left in stock. serge had a good idea. you can oblong the holes for the thumbscrews so you can slide off the pannels without completely removing the thubbscrews. i think we may have the next batch of plastic sunhoods made like that. what do you think? we are also working on a cloth sunhood with button snaps for the HD089 series monitor they should be out in about a month
