Hey guys!
During the easter I went home to my hometown and recorded a music video for my best friend (who BTW gave me a long time loan to buy my D90) We went out to a place that looks like some kind of wasteland, and it smelled like shi*. We didn't have any permissions to be there and we only had a couple of hours since i wanted the sunset light. What did I learn from this? 1: Don't make films with people that doesn't take your directors role seriously. 2: It's hard for an actor that doesn't know how to play drums to make it look like he knows the song. 3: If you're in charge, BE in charge! And since I don't want to be angry with my friends I'm back to 1. I'd like to hear what you think about the video and some advice what I could have done. http://vimeo.com/4147469 |

A bit soft, but that could be compression. Everything else looks very good.

Reason #2. Most Swedes I know speak better English than me and other native speakers. Reason #3. They learn English from a young age, are well educated, and many consider English their second language. Reason #4. So that people other than Swedes can listen to, and enjoy their music. The Swedes I know have a great taste in music and art. |

Yeah english is pretty much an official language here, but i wouldn't say we speak it very well beyond basic conversation. I used to think i was awesome at it before i lived in the states and later worked as a writer in english, but i honestly wasn't. Ask any swede to open a kitchen drawer and name the tools. Ok, knife, but then? :-)

Yeah it's pretty much what Artforme wrote.
But i have a theory why Swedes speaks better english than others. When we watch films we do not dub them like the germans do. We put swedish subtitles instead. Imagine how much you learn when you see all these hollywood movies with a translated text under everything they say during your whole childhood. I still remember when I was 7 and saw Jaws - "Smile you son of a bitch" but i said it like Smile you sannavallawich

Or because swedish and english are extremely closely related. All scandinavians speak good english as well as the dutch. Same family. Or "samma familj", for those who want proof. :-)
