Haha! Just saw it. That was "cute"... in a manly way of course >< Good job
Just... I'm sure you know this... there was a spec or dirt on the lense... REGARDLESS, it didn't really detract from the story. It was still fun |

Yeah, that spec of dust is a pain... I think I've finally got it off the lens. I wish is wasn't there, but, oh well.

Simple concept done with style, I loved it! Personally one of the best I have seen so far!

Really nice work here, Alex. I enjoyed how the story guided the viewer one way with the loss of something, but when he found it, we were jolted the other way and found out he lost his voice. That was a very nice plot technique. It certainly gave you and your cast a lot of opportunity for bits of humorous debasement on the part of the lead. I really cracked up when I saw him making the hot salt water gargle. I knew it was coming, but I still erupted into laughter when it burnt his tongue.
Your lead was very charismatic and did a fine job carrying the film; many great moments from him. The supporting cast was also pretty solid (and I just realized that the lead was you...so bravo, sir!) Now, I did find a few inconsistencies within the sound and picture. Toward the end, a cut from the girl's arrival to the reaction shot went from a warm magic hour shot to a VERY warm shot. The rest of the film is graded similarly, so it works fairly well, but it was a little distracting. You might have been able to just squeeze it in and subtly change the warmth through key frames. And with regards to sound, I just a couple of times heard some extra signal noise poking in to say "hello," but it was far from distracting for me. It certainly wasn't infrequent, but there was a lot going on in each sequence that it helped to mask the problem. Although, we all as filmmakers must remember that masking it doesn't make it go away. I always say that sound, to quote other filmmakers before me, is about 70% of a film. Without good sound, it can be difficult. Heck, even I ran into a bunch of sound problems (although I only had a sound guy for one night). Like I said, it's not very distracting, but something to work on in the future. Overall, very strong film. Great work! Last edited by Lawsuit_Boy; 03-11-2009 at 08:01 AM. |

One last note: The music was very effective. It complimented the film well and elevated the comedic manner in which everything was presenting by opposing it was intense progressions.
