Side note:
I think the budget for this one was $5-$8 (we bought a bulb)

tell us about some of your cinematographer wizardry. what was it like working with anamorphic lenses?

Ha!
We had:
1 x 1.2 HMI par (mag. ballast) borrowed
1 x Lowell Rifa Light
1 x 2x2ft household flou borrowed
4 x 1x4ft household flou borrowed
a handful of practicles.

Bought 1 ringlite from home depot.

Did not even have C stands for this one. Just propped things up on chairs (except the hmi had a combo)

Most of this was shot on a 50mm lomo square front anamorphic lens. So we pretty much just walked the camera around for different angles.
No handheld in this one.

I was gonna ask about whether you had used an anamorphic lens or if you added those sexy ass anamorphic flares in post. Now I don't have to ask.
