You may have to wait a while on your answer. Kyle hasn't been posting here much lately...

You're both correct.
I've been busy with a write-for-hire project, just finished on FEB 22 and now I'm moving on to a pretty cool original horror script. Hopefully, an indie prodco will pick it up because I like this one a lot. And I've been busy at work opening another imaging center. Not enough hours in the day. I don't recall the exact timeline GRENCH.... but I spent 8 months writing it, sent it out, and within 3-4 months (if memory serves) I had an agent and a deal on the table. Seems like a long time ago. Here's a file link to AWARD WINNING SCREENPLAYS & OTHER NOTABLES (someone asked for this, I think) http://www.filefront.com/15739501/AW...20NOTABLES.zip If you're looking for the pdf with screenwriting notes, it's long gone. Sorry. Last year I found it circulating online, with added material that wasn't in the original copy. Take care guys, K

How long did it take you to sell the script? How many people would you estimate got a copy of it before someone bought it? What script number was it, was it your 4th, 5th, 10th? Thanks!

3-4 months before negotiations started.
Number of people who saw it, not sure. Number of copies distributed, 200. It was my 8th completed feature script. But I had been writing shorts and other forms since 1996.

Is there anywhere we could read some examples of your work? I realize this one may be legally off-bounds for now, but I'd love to get a sense of your writing. I bet it's every bit as good as your recent success implies...

Way to go Kyle! Thanks for the credit on using the Writing A Great Script Fast DVD Workshop. You were my first workshop sale! I consider it a good sign you sold a script. Keep selling scripts - it looks good for me. Now you have inspired me to do a survey to see who else has sold scripts. I know of a few others. And please thank me again in your Academy Award speeches if you have time. (Just kidding!) Everyone is so proud of you for giving them hope for the same possibility and thanks again for the credit.
There is a new article going up soon on MyFlik.com called "How To Write For 3D" (from Student Filmmakers Magazine April 2010) with a focus on Avatar for anyone writing for 3D. There are also over 3 free hours of Writing A Great Script Fast videos, and a free 50 page workbook you can download. Lots of libraries are now getting the workshop too, so ask your librarian today and start a film group and do 1 DVD a week. It works and will save you lots of time reading screenplay books. There is also a 10 minute movie on the homepage that covers the Hero Journey plot points from Vogler's book mentioned by Kyle above in his sources.
