The first amount is what I get for the first 2 drafts (original work and 1 rewrite, if necessary--$300K) and if the script gets made, and I have sole writing credit, then I get the rest ($300K).

Wow! This is what I have wanted for so long. Congrats, man! How many pages is the script? Maybe we can work together in the future.
Cheers,

Thank you very much. The whole thing has been so humbling and gratifying--
The script is 112 pages currently. I cut it down from the original 120, mostly for pacing in ACT 3. Last edited by kylekmd; 03-30-2008 at 01:23 PM. |

What do you get before you start writing drafts? It appears as if you don't get paid if they don't order any drafts?

sorry--let me clarify. The script is done, and sold.
I will receive a check this week for $300K (or whatever remains after the attorney gets done with it); then, under the terms of the contract, I owe them 1 additional rewrite, if necessary. There may not be a rewrite--I won't know until it makes it through Development. But, no matter what happens, I get the first lump sum this week. Last edited by kylekmd; 03-30-2008 at 02:00 PM. |
